What for should you avoid malicious thoughts

This post was originally written in Russian sometime just after a New Year holiday observations.

A completely distant, but relevant analogy came into my brain yesterday, namely on the topic of why and what for one should get rid of malicious thoughts.

the mind is like a huge apartment building in which thoughts and emotions live. Let’s start with two opposite cases. Let’s take one inhabited by critically thinking, creative and entrepreneurial people. They usually tend to live not only for themselves, but mostly for others. The building turns out to be so neat and clean, neighbors know each other, and constant exchange of ideas, knowledge and observation is happening, moreover, the building itself acts like another source of inspiration to it’s inhabitants.

On another extreme let’s take ordinary slum, inhabited by some marginalized people, often alcoholic, addicted or plain criminal. Those people live to feed their inner demons(more on that later). They are like cancer cells, they do not add anything to each other – they now and then scam the neighbor, and sometimes even stab each other with a knife for the bottle of vodka or pouch of some psychoactive substance. It’s clear that such a house is dirty and disgusting, there can be no talk of any future there. Even inhabitants themselves feel sick to live in constant fear of neighbors, but they can’t help themselves, everything around is the same and they have no source of strength to escape it. It’s kind of downwards spiral trap.

Now let’s look how those houses perceived from outside. In our “positive” house outside people go with joy, willingly. They take a piece of ideas, qi and mood from there, but it doesn’t take anything away from the building and it’s inhabitants. It’s still a whole.

On the other side we have our “negative” house. No one goes there, because there is nothing to do there, except you might get robbed, stabbed or something.

Naturally, these are extreme cases which are quiet rare in real world. In real world there are occasional neighbors, how to out it mildly? okay, let’s say they leave a smelly trash bag on the stairs, or smoke there, or piss there. Or let’s say it’s nice decent house, but it’s just for the time being, since the nice people there are so indifferent. And then something happens, something really really bad, and some of that nice indifferent falls of a positivity cliff. Sooner or later to those who live in that house, and remained positive it will become obvious, simple choice – either to get rid of that “fallen” person or to slowly succumb to his level.

So getting closer to the point now, malicious thoughts – are those marginalized elements, and if nothing is done with them, if they are not wiped out right at the moment of occurrence, they will corrupt others too, until they fill your mind completely, just like cancer cells do btw. And that may be the point of no return. At least it can take years and decades of hard work and extreme though discipline to clear your mind. On the other hand, if majority of you thoughts are positive, they can eradicate those bad ones almost unconsciously. You will not be touched by outside negative, you life will became much more joyful, all your so-called problems will be solved seemingly by themselves. Your body will be healed, you will find that you became much more productive and effective, and every in every endeavor you will see a road not the obstacles.

And the main thing, you will understand one simple thing: there is no such thing as happiness, it’s not some point of destination you can reach, instead it’s the journey, and across that journey, without any single-point destination, you will find many miracles and many joys.

P.S. you will not need to post crappy pictures on social platforms, to convince yourself you are happy by showing others fake.
